This tool offers a curated library of Raman spectra from various microplastics, including polymer types commonly found in environmental and human exposure samples. The spectra were collected using standardized settings to ensure high reproducibility and identification accuracy. Researchers can use the library to match their sample spectra with known references, aiding in polymer identification and classification.
Image acquisition was performed in dark field mode at a magnification of 20×. Raman acquisition parameters included a laser power of 3 mW, exposure time of 0.01 s per pixel, 5 scans per point, and a spatial resolution of 0.4 μm per pixel. For each individual measurement, the exposure time was 0.1 s. These settings were selected to optimize signal quality while minimizing potential thermal degradation of the microplastic particles.
